Paulita Lloyd, Dental
Director
Paulita Lloyd joined South of Market Health Center as the new Dental Director in July of 2006. Dr. Lloyd received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Michigan where she was honored with the Ida Gray Award and an appointment to the Multicultural Affairs Committee for her distinguished contribution to cultural diversity in the dental school community.
Under Dr. Lloyd's leadership, the Dental Department has continued to grow and expand in areas of patient education and preventive services. In addition to seeing patients, Dr. Lloyd is responsible for managing the department, assuring a scope of care that meets the basic needs of each client, regardless of their ability to pay, and for incorporating a strong prevention and self-care program.
In her own words, Dr. Lloyd reminds us that she "works diligently to serve the public in any capacity necessary".
Working with Dr. Lloyd is Dr. Gemma Ferrer who joined South of Market Health Center in November 2007. Dr. Ferrer received her Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine in 1995. She went on to Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery where she accomplished a Fellowship Residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry Level I in 1996 and was Chief Resident Advanced Education in General Dentistry Level II in 1997.
